Regional signs in names

I get such error when trying to build the filter with any special polish character in site name:

Outer Trace on AddSelections()
Method: Void GetMetadataForUrl(System.String, Int32, System.Guid ByRef, Int32 ByRef, Int32 ByRef, System.Object ByRef)
Error: The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)
example of some polish signs: ś, ń, ó, ł, ą, ć, ę

Can you fix that please?

Re: Regional signs in names
Sebastion,

Apologies for the delay. I have been unable to duplicate the error in your post using the characters you provided. For my testing I have created Lists with titles using one or more of the characters you provided as well as Sites with one or more of the same characters in the site title. The screenshot below shows a filter created using 2 Lists with the Polish characters and a List from a Site with a title using the Polish characters.

I assume that I have not understood your problem correctly. Could you please send me a screenshot of the List Filter Provider displaying your Site(s) in the tree view so that I can see what you are seeing? Please also include a screenshot after you have received the error. You may send the screenshots to Support@bWareTech.com.

Please mark your posts Resolved when your question has been answered to your satisfaction. Thank you.

Re: Regional signs in names
I think the problem appears when such signs are used in link also. Example below:
Site name: Oddział w Polsce
Name in link: Oddzia%C5%82%20w%20Polsce

Regards,
Sebastian.

Sebastian,

I will take a look at this issue quickly. I am concerned about your original post as I have not heard back from you. Are you unable to send me a screenshot of the tree view listing of the web part? Or has the original issue been resolved by other means?

Please mark your posts Resolved when your question has been answered to your satisfaction. Thank you.

Re: Regional signs in names
Sebastian,

My apologies for the long delay. I was having some difficulty duplicating your error, but was finally successful on an installation of Windows Server 2003 x86 and SQL Server 2005 x86. If I create a Site Collection with one or more of the characters you have provided in the URL and attempt to add a List from that Site using Build Filter the web part will throw the error in the original post you provided. I can also confirm that this issue is not language pack specific, as I can duplicate it in English, German, and Polish Site Collections.

I am currently working on a solution and should have an update available for download sometime on Monday. I will post when it is ready to go and send you a private message as well.

Please mark your posts Resolved when your question has been answered to your satisfaction. Thank you.
