We openly publish the modifications we make to the What's New Web Part content aggregator codebase so our customers know what we changed, when we changed it and why we made the change. BETA 

BETA Build - 06/08/2009 (Public Release)
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected an issue that caused an error to be thrown when grouping was enabled on a column and 1 of the column's values contained an apostrophe.
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected a security issue that caused an error to be thrown while the web part was saving web part properties to Shared storage. 
BETA Build - 06/01/2009 (Public Release)
  • Feature:  Added support for applying a maximum age limit on retrieved List items. An Item Age Limit may be set from 0-99 days. A value of 0 ignores age. The default value is set as 7 days.
  • Update: The default value for the option Show Document Title if Available has been changed to True.
  • Update: The default value for the option Show Picture Title if Available has been changed to True.
BETA Build - 05/28/2009 (Public Release)
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected an issue specific to WSS and MOSS 2007 Service Pack 2 where the Created and Modified columns that require language specific formatting would cause an SPRequest error.
BETA Build - 05/27/2009 (Public Release)
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected a display issue when under certain Themes an additional 1px line was being drawn above each Group when the results were displayed in a GridView.
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected an issue where the "! New" image for new items would not display properly because the Locale chosen for a Site was different from the server Locale.
BETA Build - 05/26/2009 (Public Release)
  • Release:  Includes all known bug fixes and feature requests made since 4/14/2009 release including full support for our new What's New List Filter Provider web part. 
BETA Build - 05/17/2009 (Private Release)
  • Performance:  Refactored licensing mechanism to run with elevated privileges when opening and reading the bWareTech.License.xml license file. This effort should eliminate the necessary security related issues regarding account rights to the license file.
  • Performance:  Licensing mechanism now only checks periodically (randomized) for the presence of a valid license file and license key.
BETA Build - 05/14/2009 (Not Released)
  • Feature:  Added support for the Content Type Custom Datasheet Items. Support for this Content Type was added as it is exposed by the SPTreeView control being used in the What's New List Filter Provider web part.
BETA Build - 05/12/2009 (Not Released)
  • Feature:  Added support for the Content Type Blog Categories. Support for this Content Type was added as it is exposed by the SPTreeView control being used in the What's New List Filter Provider web part.
BETA Build - 05/11/2009 (Not Released)
  • Feature:  Added support for the Content Type Project Tasks. Support for this Content Type was added as it is exposed by the SPTreeView control being used in the What's New List Filter Provider web part. Support for this new Content Type also includes the Include Completed Project Tasks option from the web part ToolPart.
BETA Build - 05/09/2009 (Not Released)
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected a display issue that failed to display the New icon on List items when the Title column was chosen for display. A cosmetic issue, but necessary to remain consistent with the column choice Title (linked to item).
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected a display issue when the Content Type Attendees title link did not always display the "friendly" name of the user that had been added to a meeting attendee list.
BETA Build - 05/06/2009 (Private Release)
  • Feature:  Added support for the following Meeting specific Content Types: Agenda Items, Attendees, Decisions, Objectives and Things To Bring.
BETA Build - 05/02/2009 (Not Released)
  • Feature:  Added support for the iWebPartTable consumer connection interface to support our new What's New List Filter Provider web part under development. Note: Support for the iWebPartRow consumer interface has been removed.
BETA Build - 04/28/2009 (Not Released)
  • Bug Fix:  Corrected a condition that caused an ERROR to be thrown when a List item did not contain a valid Content Type. Error message contained the GetItemById signature.
  • Bug Fix:  Refactored code that was causing a memory leak from SPSite objects not being disposed correctly.
  • Bug Fix:  Refactored code that was causing a memory leak from SPWeb objects that were not disposed correctly.
  • Performance:  Refactored code to use fewer calls to object collections. Sites with large list collections per Site Collection or individual Site will see the most improvement.
Documentation - 04/26/2009
  • Documents:  License File Security - Added topic on the access requirements of the bWareTech.License.xml file when placed in the \BIN directory of a Windows SharePoint Services or MOSS 2007 extended Web application.
BETA Build - 04/14/2009 (Public Release)
  • Feature:  Group By - You may now select a single Column from the following; Content Type, Created By, List Title, Modified By or Site Title. Groups are styled to the familiar SharePoint views. The default value is no grouping.
  • Feature:  SharePoint Designer 2007 Support - Implemented the IDesignTimeHtmlProvider interface to render the web part while being displayed in design mode within Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007.
BETA Build - 04/11/2009 (Public Release)
  • Feature:  Results Cache Duration - You may now choose to cache the web part results from 1 to 99 minutes. Entering a cache value of 0 minutes will disable caching for real-time results. We recommend caching be enable as large and/or very busy sites will experience a significant increase in performance. The default value is 5 minutes.
BETA Build - 04/03/2009 (Public Release)
  • Release:  Includes 90% of planned features of first retail release. Major missing elements include Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 support, result set Group By, result set Caching, and web part connections for filtering.
